26 Aug How To Make The Perfect Bed, Italian Style
Making the perfect bed isn’t easy is it. Hospital corners, military precision… undertucks, overtucks, wombling free.
Dormeo Octaspring worked in partnership recently with legendary Italian luxury linen producer Frette to create a simple “how to make the perfect bed” video. (The sharp-dressed, swarthy Italian man helping out around your bedroom is an optional extra.)
What else should you consider with your bedding choices?
- Try to choose the right bedding. Always aim for a natural material like a high quality cotton. This will keep you nice and cool, it’ll feel smooth to the touch and will get even smoother over time.
- Make sure you have two or three sets if possible so you’re not left feeling stressed on laundry day.
- When it comes to pillows it’s lovely to have a large collection of mixed styles, particularly to support you when reading, but it’ll be better for your sleep and your sleeping posture if you limit yourself to one, maybe two when it’s actually time to sleep.
How to make the perfect bed, step by step.
Lay out the undersheet
Ensure the undersheet is tightly folded on the corners under the bed
Lay out the topsheet, leaving the sides untucked to ease your movement and temperature in bed.
Run your fingers down the open-sided sheet to create the perfect neat lines.
Voila! Perfect for warmer nights, a loose-hanging sheet.
And when it gets colder at night, this is the latest way to keep the duvet, loose and crumpled.
